  • BACKPACKING NEAR SEATTLE | MASON LAKE via IRA SPRING TRAIL | Alpine Lakes

    Backpacking near Seattle to Mason Lake via Ira Spring Memorial Trail is a 6.7 mile loop trail in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Snoqualmie National Forest. This is located near Snoqualmie and North Bend. I would say this trail is HIGHLY trafficked on the weekends.

  • Spencer Lake in Mason County

    Spencer Lake in Mason county is a 220 acre lake well known for it's rainbow trout. It also holds largemouth and (we discovered) smallmouth bass. It has a nice county boat launch. Shore angling is minimal.

    Rooten-Tooten Wooten as it's known affectionately by insiders, is a pleasant 69 acre lake that will yield planted trout (rainbow and cutthroat) and largemouth bass. It has a nice view of the Olympic Mountain range. The lake is developed and has a good WDFW ramp with good parking. Video Summer 08, with thanks to Bob Johansen for his help.

    I fished with Bob Johansen on a nice spring/early summer day, June 17th, 20011 on Panther Lake in Kitsap county Washington. The bass were cooperative early in the day on floating rapalas and soft plastics. Great memories on a great lake!

  • Kitsap lake in Kitsap County

    My bassin buddy Bob J and I fished this lake summer of 09. Nice lake. I caught a 3.5 lb LMB on a frog, first frog caught bass ever! This lake is 238 acres and holds rainbow, cutthroat, LM bass, bluegill and bullhead. Very nice county park/launch and there is a secondary WDFW launch area as well.

  • Alpine Lakes, WA Hiking, Packrafting, & Fishing

    A short overnight hike up to the Alpine Lakes in Washington state. No fish, but the blueberries were ripe and the packrafting was awesome.

  • Heather Lake, Alpine Lake in Washington

    Heather Lake is located at the base of Mt Pilchuck, an easy 2.5 mile hike, and about 1,000 ft of elevation gain. It is open to hike early in the season due to it's relatively low elevation of 2,450 ft. 8.5 miles east of Granit Falls off the Mountain Loop Hwy. Holds cutthroat trout. 17.5 acres.
